Former name : "Horshooe Alley." Burial Register, St. Olave Hart Street, 1664-5, transcribed in Povah's Annals, p. 190. "Horshoe Alley" (O. and M. 1677).

Site now occupied by John Street.

2) South out of London Wall, in Broad Street Ward (O. and M. 1677-Boyle, 1799).

"Boarded Alley," in W. Stow, 1722.

It seems now to form an eastern entrance into Carpenters' Hall.
