«The Sergeant Baker in all probability got its localappellation to the early history of the colony (New SouthWales), as it was called after a sergeant of that name in oneof the first detachments of a regiment; so were also two fruitsof the Geebong tribe ( Persoonia); one was called MajorBuller, and the other Major Groce, and this latter againfurther corrupted into Major Grocer.»
