ANAMIS(Ἄναμις), a river of Carmania, which is called Andanis by Pliny (Plin. Nat. 6.25). It was one of the rivers at the mouth of which the fleet of Nearchus anchored on the voyage from the Indus to. the head of the Persian Gulf. The place where the fleet stopped at the mouth of the river was called Harmozeia. (Arrian, Indic.100.33.) The outlet of the Anamis was on the east side of the Persian Gulf, near 27° N. lat., and near the small island after-wards called Ormuzor Hormuz. The Anamis is the Ibrahim Rudor River.
