ANTHE´NE(Ἀνθήνη, Thuc.; Ἀνθάνα, Steph. B. s. v.;Ἀθήνη, Paus.: Eth. Ἀνθανεύς, Steph. B.), a town in Cynuria, originally inhabited by the Aeginetans, and mentioned by Thucydides along with Thyrea, as the two chief places in Cynuria.
