ARIZANTI(Ἀριζαντοί, Her. 1.101), one of the six tribes of ancient Media mentioned by Herodotus. The name is derived from the Sanscrit Arya-Zantuof noble race.(Bopp, Vergl. Gr. 1. p. 213.) Chrysantas (Χρυάντας, Xen. Cyrop. 2.3. 5) is a name of similar origin and signification.
