ASPI´SII(Ἀσπίσιοι Σκύθαι), a people of Scythia intra Imaum, N. of the Jaxartes, and W. of the Aspisii Montes (τὰ Ἀσπίσια ὄρη : Ptol. 6.14. § § 6, 12). They appear to be the same as the Ἀσπασιάκαι Νομάδες, between the Oxus and the Tanais, mentioned by Polybius (Plb. 10.45).
