BROCOMAGUS(Brumath), a town of the Tribocci, on the road from Argentoratum ( Strassburg) to Cologne. It is Βρευκόμαγοςin Ptolemy (Ptol. 2.9.18). Julian (Ammian. 16.2) defeated some Germans here. This town also occurs in the Antonine Itin. It is easily identified with Brumnathon the Zorn, in the department of Bas Rhin, between Strassburgand Haguenau. Many Roman remains have been found about it. Ruins of Roman walls are said to exist north of the Zorn, and traces of a Roman road to Selz.
