BYLAZO´RA(Βυλάζωρα: Velesá, or Velessó), the greatest city of Paeonia in Macedonia, was istuated on the Upper Axius, and near the passes leading from the country of the Dardani into Macedonia. (Plb. 5.97; Liv. 44.26; Leake, Northern Greece, vol. 3. p. 470.) It was a different place from the residence of the Paeonlian kinds on the river Astycus. [ASTYCUS]
