Celnius

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

CELNIUS(Κέλνιος), in Britain, mentioned by Ptolemy (Ptol. 2.3.5), between the Tuasis aestuary (Τούαισις εἴσχυσις) and the Taezalum Promontory. The former of these is next in order southwards to the Varar aestuary ( Murray Firth), the latter is to the north of the Deva (Dee). Hence the Speyis the likeliest equivalent to the Celnius.
