Cevelum

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

CEVELUM a place in North Gallia, according to the Table, on the road between Noviomagus ( Nymegen) and Atuaca, that is Aduatuca ( Tongern). It is placed between Noviomagus and Blariacum ( Blerick), both well known positions. D'Anville supposes that the position of Cevelum may be Kuikon the Maas, though he admits that the distance from Nymegenis twice as much as the Table gives. Walckenaer selects Clevesburgas the spot.
