CHALYBON(Χαλυβών), a city in Syria, afterwards called Beroea [BEROEAN o. 3], from which came the name of Chalybonitis (Χαλυβωνῖτις, Ptol. 5.15.17), one of the ten districts of northern Syria, lying to the E. of Chalcidice, towards the Euphrates.
