Chelae

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

CHELAE(Χῆλαι), a place on the coast of Bithynia, marked in the Table. Arrian (p. 13) places it 20 stadia east of the island Thynias, and 180 west of the mouth of the Sangarius. It is generally identified with a cape named Kefkenin the maps.
