CIMME´RIUM(Κιμμέριον, Ptol. 3.6.4; Κιμμερὶς, Scymn. Frag. cxlviii; Κιμμερικόν, Strab. 11. p. 494; Cimmerium, Pomp. Mela, 1.19.15), a town of the Cimmerian Bosporus which Pliny says was situated ultimo in ostio,and was formerly called CERBERION(6.6). Clarke ( Trav. vol. 2. p. 67) identifies it with Temruk;Forbiger (vol. 3. p. 1128) with Eskikrimm.
