Corisopiti

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

CORISOPITI a Gallic people, not mentioned by any authority earlier than the Notitia. In the middle ages the diocese of Quimperwas called Corisopitensis, and it is therefore certain that the Corisopiti occupied the diocese of Quimperin Bretagne. Quimperis now in the department of Finistere. There are good reasons for supposing that the Corisopiti were a small tribe dependent on the Osismii, whom Caesar mentions ( B. G. 3.9).
