Cossoanus

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

COSSOANUS(Κοσσόανος, Arrian. Indic. 4), one of the many tributaries of the Ganges, recorded by Arrian. It is probably the same as that which Pliny (Plin. Nat. 6.18. s. 22) calls Cossoagus. It has been conjectured that it is the same as that now called Cosi or Cosa.
