Cucusus

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

CUCU´SUS(ἡ Κουκουσσός, Eustath. ad Dion. Per. 694), COCU´SUS, or COCU´SUM, a place in Cataonia several times mentioned in the Antonine Itin.; and probably the Octacuscus of the Table. The Itin. places it 62 M. P. from Comana of Cappadocia. It was the place of banishment of Chrysostomus, A.D. 404. It seems to be Cocsou or Goysyn, as it is named in some modern maps.
