Damasia

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

DAMA´SIA(Δαμασία), a fortified town in Vindelicia, which Strabo (4. p. 206) regards as the acropolis of the Licattii. The place now generally identified with it is Hohenembs, in the upper valley of the Rhine, though some believe it to be the more ancient name of Augusta Vindelicorum.
