Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

DAMA´STIUM(Δαμάστιον), a town in Epeirus, which Strabo mentions as possessing silver mines (7. p. 326). The name of this town occurs in no other ancient writer; but there are several coins extant, bearing the epigraph Δαμαστινων, which were probably struck at this place. (Eckhel, vol. 2. p. 164.)
