Dendrobosa

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

DENDRO´BOSA(Δενδρώβοσα, Arrian, Ind. 100.27), a place on the coast of Gedrosia, in the district of the Icthyophagi, visited by Nearchus's fleet. Dr. Vincent thinks that it is the Δεράνη Βίλλαof Ptolemy (Ptol. 6.8.9), and the Derenobilla (Δερενόβιλλα) of Marcian (p. 23), and that it is, perhaps, represented by the modern Daram. ( Voy. of Nearch. vol. 1. p. 252.)
