EBREDUNUM, EBURODUNUM( Yverdun). This is the Castrum Ebredunense of the Notitia of the Gallic provinces, at the southern end of the lake of Neuchâtel, in the canton of Vaudin Switzerland. It is situated where the river Orbe enters the lake, and it is supposed to be the place which is mentioned in the Notitia of the empire: in provincia Gallia Ripensi, praefectus classis Barcariorum Ebruduni Sapaudiae;for the fleet, whatever it may have been, could not have been kept at Ebrodunum on the Durance.
