EM´BATUM(τὸ Ἔμβατον), a place in the territory of Erythrae, mentioned by Theopompus in the eighth book of his Hellenica. (Steph. B. s. v.) It appears from Thucydides (Thuc. 3.29) that it was on the coast.[G.L]
