ERI´NEUS or ERI´NEUM.
1. （Ἐρινεός, Ἐρινεόν : Eth. Ἐρινεάτης, Ἐρινεεύς), one of the towns of the tetrapolis of Doris, described by Strabo as lying below the town of Pindus: it probably stood upon the river of the latter name. 2. （Ἐρινεόν), a town of Phthiotis in Thessaly, mentioned only by Strabo. Its site is uncertain, but Leake conjectures that the remains on the left bank of the Enipeus near Koklobáshimay be those of Erineum. (Strab. 9. p. 434; Leake, Northern Greece, vol. 4. p. 471).
