Frudis

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

FRUDIS(Φρούδιος ἐκβολαί) is placed by Ptolemy (Ptol. 2.9) between the mouth of the Sequana ( Seine) and the Promontory Itium. The reading Φρούνου ἐκβολαίin Marcian (p. 50) is conjectured by Ukert (Gallien, p. 146) to be an error for Φρούδου ἐκβολαί D'Anville supposes that Ptolemy's Frudis is the outlet of the Samara ( Somme).
