Gabaza

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

GABAZA a district of Sogdiana apparently from the description of Curtius, who states that Alexander's army suffered much there from the severity of the cold in the northern part of that province (8.4.1). [GABAEN o. 1.] It must have been between the 40th and 42nd parallels of N. lat., and near the furthest limit northward of Alexander's march.
