GADAR(Γάδαρ, Isid. Stath. Part. p. 2), appears to have been a small place between Nisae and Antiocheia of Margiana. Rennell ( Geogr. of Herod. vol. 2. p. 390) has conjectured, from the names of two other small places mentioned also by Isidorus, that Gadar is represented now by Gandaror Caendar, called by Abulfeda Kondor, and not improbably one of the later seats of the Gandarii or Gandháras.
