Hypsi

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

HYPSI(Ὕψοι), a place in Laconia, containing temples of Asclepius and Artemis Daphnaea, situate 30 stadia from the Carneium on Mt. Cnacadium. Leake places Hypsi at Vathý, on the coast, but it was probably in the mountains in the interior. (Leake, Morea, vol. 1. p. 276; Curtius, Peloponnesos, vol. 2. p. 275.)
