HYTANIS or HYCTANIS, a river of Carmania mentioned by Pliny (Plin. Nat. 6.23. s. 26), and which he says washed down gold. Strabo, on the authority of Onesicritus, speaks of a similar river, but does not give its name (15. p. 726). [V]
