LAU´GONA the modern Lahn, a river of Germany, on the east of the Rhine, into which it empties itself at Lahnstein, a few miles above Coblenz. The ancients praise it for its clear water (Venant. Fort. 8.7; Geogr. Rav. 4.24, where it is called Logna.
