Lete

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

LETE(Λήτη: Eth. Ληταῖος), a town of Macedonia, which Stephanus B. asserts to have been the native city of Nearchus, the admiral of Alexander the Great; but in this he is certainly mistaken, as Nearchus was a Cretan. (Comp. Arrian, Ind. 18; Diod. 19.19.) COIN OF LETE.
