Libnath

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

LIBNATH(Λεβνά, Λοβνά), generally mentioned in connection with Lachish, from which it could not be far distant [LACHISIH]. ( Josh. 10.29—32; 2 Kings, 19.8.) It belonged to Judah ( Josh. 15.42), and is recognised by Eusebius as a village in the district of Eleutheropolis. ( Onomast. s. v. Λοβανά.) Dr. Robinson could not succeed in recovering any traces of its name or site ( Bib. Res. vol. 2. p. 389).
