LOXA in Britain, mentioned by Ptolemy (Ptol. 2.3) as a river on the western coast of Scotland, north of the Vara (Οὐάρα) estuary,i. e. the Murray Firth. Identified in the Monumenta Britannicawith the Lothin Sutherland; the Lossie, and Cromarty Firth.
