Lugionum

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

LUGIO´NUM(Λουγίωνον), a town in the south of Pannonia Inferior, was the capital of a district. (Ptol. 2.16.5.) In the Peuting. Table it is called Lugio, and it is, perhaps, to be looked for on the site of the modern Batta, at the entrance of the Sarvizinto the Danube.
