Malana

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

MALANA(Μάλανα, Arrian, Ind. 100.25), a cape which enters the Indian Ocean, and forms the western boundary of the Oreitae (one of the seacoast tribes of Gedrosia) and the Ichthyophagi. There is no doubt that it is the same as the present C. Malanin Mekran, the measurements of Nearchus and of modern navigators corresponding remarkably. (Vincent, Voy. of Nearchus, vol. 1. p. 216.)
