MAMALA(Μάμαλα κώμη), a village of the Cassanitae, south of BADEI REGIA,on the Arabian coast of the Red Sea. (Ptol. 6.7.5) [GASANDES; BADEI REGIA.] It has been supposed to be represented by the modern town of Konfoda, and to have been the capital of the piratical tribe of Conraitae, mentioned by Arrian (Periplus, p. 15).
