MARVINGI(Μαρουίγγοι), a German tribe on the east of Mons Abnoba, between the Suevi and the Danube. (Ptol. 2.11.22.) The town of Bergium (the modern Bamberg) was probably the capital of the Marvingi. (Ptol. 2.11.29.)[L.S]
