MELINO´PHAGI(Μελινοφάγοι), a people of Thrace upon the coast of the Euxine, near Salmydessus. (Xen. Anab. 7.5. 12; Theopomp. ap. Steph. B. s. v.) They are, perhaps. the same people as the Asti (Ἀστοί) whom Strabo places in the same neighbourhood (vii. pp. 319, 320).
