Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

OLOPHYXUS(Ὀλόφυξος, Hdt. 7.22; Thuc. 4.109; Scyl. p. 27; Strab. 7. p. 331; Steph. B.), a town on the peninsula of Acte, the site of which is probably represented by the Arsanáof Khilandári, the tenth and last monastery of the E. shore of the Monte Santo. It is reported that here there were Hellenic remains found, in particular those of a mole, part of which is now left. (Leake, Northern Greece, vol. iii. pp. 141, 151.)
