OPHRY´NIUM(Ὀφρύνειον), a small town in the north of Troas, near lake Pteleos, and between Dardanus and Rhoeteum, with a grave sacred to Ajax. (Hdt. 7.43; Xenoph. Anab. 7.8.5, where it is called Ὀφρύνιον;Strab. 13. p. 595.) It is probably the modern Fren-Kevi. (Comp. Rasche, Lexic. Rei Num. 3.2. p. 136.)
