Opius

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

O´PIUS(Ὀπιοῦς), a small port-town on the coast of Pontus, probably on or near the mouth of the river Ophis. (Ptol. 5.6.6; Tab. Peutíng. ) It is placed 120 stadia west of the river Rhizius, although its name seems to indicate that it was situated further west, near the river Ophis.
