PISCENAE enumerated by Pliny (Plin. Nat. 3.4. s. 5) among the Oppida Latina of Gallia Narbonensis. It is generally assumed to be represented by Pezenasin the district of Agatha ( Agde) near the Arauris ( Hérault). Pliny (Plin. Nat. 8.48. s. 73) speaks of a wool that was grown about Piscenae, which was more like hair than wool.
