PROTUNICA a place in Bithynia, on the road from Nicaea to Ancyra. ( Itin. Hieros. p. 573.) It is possibly the same place as Protomacrae (Πρωτομάκραι) mentioned by Ptolemy (Ptol. 5.1.13).[L.S]
