RAAMSES(Ῥαμεσσῆ, LXX., Exod. 1.11, 12.37; Numb. 33.3, 5), was, according to D'Anville (Mém sur l'Egypte, p. 72), identical with Heroopolis in the Delta; but according to other writers (Jablonsky, Opusc. 2. p. 136; Winer, Bibl. Realwörterbuch, vol. 2. p. 351) the same as Heliopolis in the same division of Aegypt. [W.B.D]
