Ragau

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

RAGAU(Ῥαγαῦ, Isidor. Stathm. Parth. § 13), a town mentioned by Isidorus in the district of Parthia called Apavarctene. It is probably the same place as the Ragaea of Ptolemy (Ῥαγαία, 6.5.4). It is not clear whether there exist at present any remains of this town, but it must have been situated to the E. of Nishápur, between that town and Herát.
