Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

RATAE(Itin. Ant. pp. 477, 479: Ῥάτε, Ptol. 2.3.20, where some read Ῥάγε), a town of the Coritani in the interior of Britannia Romana, and on the road from Londonto Lincoln. It is called Ratecorion in the Geogr. Rav. (5.31). Camden (p. 537) identifies it with Leicester.
