Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

RUSPI´NUM(Ῥουσπῖνον, Strab. 17. p. 831; Ruspina, Auct. B. Afr. 6; Plin. Nat. 5.3; Peut. Tab.), a town of Africa Proper, where Caesar defeated Scipio, and which he afterwards made his position while waiting for reinforcements. It is probably the same place as the THERMAE of the Coast-describer (Stadiasm. § 114, ed. Müller), near the ruins of Leptis Parva.
