Sanaus

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

SANAUS(Σαναός), a town of Phrygia, in the neighbourhood of Laodiceia. (Strab. 12. p. 576; Hierocl. p. 666.) In the acts of the Council of Chalcedon (p. 674), it is called Σαναῶν πόλις, and is probably mentioned by Ptolemy (Ptol. 5.2.26) under the name of Sanis.
