Secoanus

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

SECOANUS(Σηκοανός, Steph. s. v.), a river of the Massaliots, according to one reading, but according to another reading, a city of the Massaliots, from which comes the ethnic name Sequani, as Artemidorus says in his first book.Nothing can be made of this fragment further than this; the name Sequanus belonged both to the basin of the Rhoneand of the Seine.
