Talacory

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

TALACO´RY(Ταλάκωρυ, Ptol. 7.4.7), a port on the north-western side of the island of Taprobane or Ceylon. It is described as an emporium, and has, probably, derived its name from the promontory of Cory, which was opposite to it, on the mainland. It appears to have been also called Aacote (Ἀακότη).
