TEGNA in Gallia Narbonensis, was on the Roman road on the east bank of the Rhone between Vienna ( Vienne) and Valentia ( Valence). The name occurs in the Table, in which the place is fixed at xiii. from Valentia. Tegna is Tein, the name of which in the writings of a later date is Tinctum. A milestone at Teinmarks the distance to Vienna xxxviii. Teinis right opposite to Tournon, which is on the west side of the river. Tournonis well situated, and the mountains there approach close to the Rhone. (D'Anville, Notice, &c.Ukert, Gallien.)
