THYRAEUM(Θυραῖον: Eth. Θυραῖος), a town of Arcadia in the district Cynuria, said to have been founded by Thyraeus, a son of Lycaon. It is placed by Leake at Palamári. (Paus. 8.3.3, 35.7; Steph. B. s. v.;Leake, Peloponnesiaca, p. 240.)
